Safety Guidelines 

Safety Glasses

Safety glasses are required at all times when working in the shop, using tools, or inside any competition pit area. This rule exists to protect your eyes from serious injury.

Anyone not wearing safety glasses will be asked to leave the area immediately until they are wearing proper protection. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Power Tools & Machines

Power tools and machines can be dangerous if not used correctly. Always use them responsibly and with full attention.

• Never use a tool unless you understand how it works

• Ask a mentor or experienced member for help if you are unsure

• Use tools only for their intended purpose

• Stay alert and focused while using any equipment

Improper use of tools can lead to serious injury—when in doubt, always ask first.

Behavior in Workspaces

Horseplay, running, or messing around is not allowed in any workspace. These environments contain tools and equipment that require focus and respect.

Unsafe behavior puts everyone at risk and can result in being removed from the area or further consequences.

Injuries & Reporting

All injuries, no matter how small, must be reported and documented. This helps ensure proper care and prevents future accidents.

Dress & Personal Safety

Proper clothing helps prevent injuries:

• Wear closed-toe shoes at all times

• Avoid loose clothing or anything that could get caught in tools

• Follow team dress expectations, especially at competitions

Accountability

Safety rules are taken seriously. Ignoring them may result in:

• Removal from the workspace

• Loss of tool privileges

• Further disciplinary action if repeated
