We purposefully have our Offseason and MinneTrials season be "open" and do not require a formal signup/fee to allow everyone to explore and learn about the team. However, this changes for the Main Build Season/Competition Season.
Please see our team's yearly schedule below.
Have your student team member create an account on FIRSTinspires.org. They will request to join our team (2181). You, as a parent/guardian, will need to sign a consent/release form. This is the official signup for our team. Because we are technically a club at BHS, there is no official signup through the school/district.
Send in a $150 activity fee if possible by mid-December by cash or check or PayPal. We ask team members to contribute an activity fee of $150 to be part of the team during the main build season and competition season if their family is able. This fee helps offset robot and event registration costs for the team. Checks can be made out to "Blaine High School Robotics Association".
If, for ANY reason, a family is not able to do this fee - please email Head Coach Jeremy and the fee will be waived. We want the Robotics team to be accessible to ALL. The fee is not meant to be a barrier to anyone joining the team officially. So please email if you need assistance.
Team members can continue to attend MinneTrials meetings and compete at MinneTrials without paying a fee. That's why the fee due date is a week after the MinneTrials competition.
Attend the December Parent Meeting that will be advertised. We will discuss Build Season and Competition Season information with parents including travel information about our BIG competitions in March.
The goal of the official signup is to establish a commitment to the team and help offset team costs. This is not meant to be punitive or be a barrier in any way. Please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Reach out by email to Head Coach Jeremy at jeremy@frcteam2181.com . We'll set up a time to discuss goals, expectations, previous experience (exp not necessary), and next steps.
We welcome any and all adults who want to help make a difference with high school aged students. No engineering experience is necessary at all! Our team is always in need of expertise in many areas such as engineering, programming, media, business, travel logistics, and more!
