Blaine High School's Robotics Team (2181 GEARS) is competing in MinneTrials this fall 2025. MinneTrials is a practice robotics competition put on by some teams in the Twin Cities. We will compete on Sunday, December 7 from 8:30am to 5pm at L H Tanglen Elementary School in Hopkins, MN. We will compete against 8 other robots (so 12 total robots).
Our team is splitting up into 4 smaller teams to give our team members maximum ability to contribute to the design, build, wiring, and programming of a robot. Each team will create a scaled down robot out of wood to compete. The team captains are Gabriella, Kaydon, Matthew, and Timothy.
The game has been revealed!! This year's MinneTrials game is called Popcorn Premiere! Robots will score tennis balls into a goal or foam cubes into a separate goal. Game Rules can be viewed here.
A livestream of the event will be available at this link. The match schedule and scores will also be updated at this link.
Transportation: It is up to individual team members to find transport to the Elementary School. If a student needs to car pool, they can come to BHS at 7am to help load up the trailer and then grab a ride with a group.
Food: Our team will provide Costco Pizzas for the entire team (student team members and mentors/coaches) for lunch. We will have non-meat options (cheese pizza). Unfortunately, we will not have non-dairy options.
We are asking parents to bring drinks, snacks, plates, etc if possible to the event. These items can also be dropped off at a team meeting this week and then we'll bring it to the event.
Parents/non-team members will need to find their own lunch during the competition. There will be a small concessions stand selling pop, candy, popcorn, etc.
Volunteering: Thank you thank you thank to all the parents who have signed up to volunteer!
